Double Deuce Racing confirms today that Bobby Magner will not return as the driver of the DDR #22 for the 2010 race season. Winning several heat races and four features, including back-to-back “Mr. Supermodified” titles, Bobby proved what we knew at the start of the 2008 season, he is a talented race car driver. We appreciate the time he spent with us and he will always be a great friend of Bob, Bill, Linda and the entire DDR team. We wish Bobby success in whatever he chooses to do in the future.

No plans have been finalized at this time for the 22 car for the 2010 season.

Pat Lavery will continue on as the driver of the DDR #2 for the 2010 season. Pat has become known as a very competitive and consistent driver throughout his two years with us. We look forward to 2010 and are still working toward Pat’s first (and more) feature win!

For those of you who check our site for updates on a regular basis, sorry for the gap over the last few weeks. Sometimes there is just nothing that comes to mind! This past weekend certainly was one of mixed emotions. Pat had a great run in the MSA “$10,000. to win race”.A top 10 finish in the event for Pat in the #2 was very satisfying. In Pat’s own words, “that was the most fun I’ve EVER had racing.” Not qualifying the 22 was a bit disappointing, but not the worst thing that has ever happened. With 36 cars attempting to qualify through time trials, it’s a “tough row to hoe”, and a poor time trial puts one in a tricky situation right off the bat. Bentley’s last lap pass in the consi kept the 22 on the sidelines for the feature. I may need to re-think the “snickerdoodles” that go to Bentley when he’s in town. Anyway, another week is ahead of us. The usual maintenance has to be done and we’ll keep trying to figure out what is going to make the 22 a happy race car. We are ever grateful to Pat and Bobby for their efforts and dedication to the team. They are both so talented and sometimes the results fall short of their expectations of themselves due to “car issues.” Our crew is the BEST and we thank them for their dedication! Maintaining 2 cars each week is no easy task, but we manage to have some fun along the way. Thanks to everyone and we’ll see you at the races!

Another week, another hustled repair!!!

After a nasty trip into the 2nd turn wall during the first heat race, the crew had to get down to business to fix the front end of the 22. We have the GREATEST CREW and drivers!!! They got the car ready in time to start the feature. Bobby was able to take the car out for a few laps before parking it for the night. Points are critical this year.

Pat had a great night in the 2. After winning his heat, he brought the car home in 4th place in the feature. The racing was close throughout the race.

So, a pattern seems to be developing.

We have had a car finish 4th every week thus far. Bobby and Pat are taking turns.

They have each won a heat race as well.

Both cars are stripped down for repairs and weekly maintenance.

We look forward to next week, hopefully, a night where no repairs are necessary!

See you at the races!

Week #2, done!

The first non-winged race week was a challenge at times.

We have become familiar with the car 22 evil/good twin and never knowing which car would come to the race. When car #2 had an evil twin appear, it was a bit of a surprise! Pat and Bobby both had their hands full on Saturday. After a spin in warm ups, the crew made some adjustments to the 22 and Bobby brought it home to victory lane in the heat. Pat raced the 2 to a third place finish in his heat. The feature saw Bobby starting on the outside front row and Pat outside in row 3. It was a great race with plenty of action throughout the field. This week the 22 came to the finish line in 4th place, a big improvement over last week. Pat fought the car all race long and brought it home in 7th. He was one tired racer! A quick tear down today revealed what was most likely the problem, which will be rectified!!! Over all, not a bad week.

We send our congratulations out to Ray Graham and crew on their first feature win. It wasn’t given to him, by any means. It took long hours in the garage by Dave Iosue and the crew. Their hard work paid off.

Finally, we send out our prayers for a quick recovery to Shawn Muldoon. We can honestly say ” we feel your pain” on many levels. Again, the car design did what it was supposed to do, but the injuries that are sustained take a long time to heal completely. Even though cars are replaceable, there is still a huge sense of loss when one is so completely destroyed. It’s not just the money factor, but the hundreds of hours invested in putting a car on the track. So, to Shawn, Bobby and crew, we are truly sorry.

That’s it for this week. See you at the races!

The first race of the season is under our belt. Pat’s practice session paid off and they learned a lot about the car set-up. His fourth place finish in the MSA-Oswego feature was most satisfactory. Bobby’s car was seriously loose in his heat, with a trip into the 3rd turn wall a result. Fortunately, it looked worse than it was, the crew got the repairs made and he got it motoring in the feature. Obviously, a 13th place finish is never a goal, but it worked for us last week! Both cars will be ready to go for Saturday. Let’s hope the weather cooperates for a second consecutive week! See you at the track!

After a few delays, we have finally completed the “Sponsorship Raffle.” For those who purchased tickets, Thank You for your patience. The lucky winner is The Office Tavern, and as the winner, will be named on Bobby’s car, the 22. We appreciate the folks who took a chance. There is a complete list on a separate page on this site. In the racing game, every dollar counts!
